🚨 Rural Crime & Anti-Social Behaviour Alert for the Bagnall Area 🚨

Attention Bagnall residents and surrounding rural communities:

We’ve seen a recent rise in rural crime in the area, including theft of farm equipment, tools, and even fuel. Additionally, there has been an increase in anti-social behaviour involving groups of youths on scooters and mopeds, causing disturbances and posing a safety risk.

What You Can Do:

  • Secure gates and sheds: Ensure all buildings and equipment are locked up.
  • Install security cameras: Cameras and motion-sensor lights can help deter both thieves and vandals.
  • Report dangerous driving: If you witness reckless behaviour by youths on scooters or mopeds, report it immediately to the police.
  • Mark your property: Use unique identifiers on tools and machinery to make them harder to sell on.
  • Join local watch schemes: Stay in touch with neighbours and share information about suspicious or disruptive behaviour.
  • Contact 101: If you see any unusual activity or anti-social behaviour, don’t hesitate to report it to the authorities.

Stay alert, and let’s work together to protect our community and ensure everyone’s safety.

Update!

Councillor Dabell has been in communication with A Sergeant based at Leek. This is the from Bagnall Village Grapevine;

Hi all after weeks Parish council meeting concerns were raised regarding issues of people on scooters riding up and down past properties causing a nuisance and actually now roaming on to private property!! I have been talking to a Sergeant at leek Police about the issue and I am now going to liaise between residents and the Police. I appreciate that people feel that there is no point reporting as nothing is done about it but I have been asked to report that if you do have any issues about these bikes please do report it and get it logged and also email in to the Bagnall Parish Council with any pictures, CCTV evidence so I can collate all the issues for my next Police meeting. Please email bagnallpc@gmail.com, for my attention. If these incidents are logged then the Police can see the issue and move resources across to combat the problem better.
